160mm x 110mm 45 Degree Double Socket Junction
Product Description
This 160mm x 110mm 87 Degree Double Socket Junction is a specialized fitting designed to branch a smaller 110 mm line off a larger 160 mm main run, achieving a smooth 87.5° turn while maintaining structural integrity and efficient flow. The unequal junction has two sockets: one for the 160 mm main run and another for the 110 mm branch. The 87.5° angle provides a swept turn that reduces turbulence compared to sharp corners, helping avoid blockage and wear.
Constructed from sturdy PVC-U (or similar underground drainage-rated material), this junction is built for buried environments, resisting soil pressure, moisture, and ground movement. The socketed ends use ring seals or push-fit technology to simplify jointing and ensure a watertight, leak-resistant connection. Its internal geometry is carefully designed to guide flow smoothly from the branch into the main line, minimising conflicting streams or eddies.
This junction is suited for applications in foul water, surface water or combined drainage systems and can be used in both domestic and light commercial settings. Because of the unequal sizing, it is especially useful where a smaller branch must join a larger main without compromising performance.
Key Features
-
Two socket ends: 160 mm (main line) and 110 mm branch
-
87.5° swept angle to provide smoother merging of flows than a sharp 90° turn
-
Manufactured in durable underground-rated plastic (PVC-U or equivalent)
-
Ring-seal or push-fit socket connections for secure, watertight assembly
-
Internal flow profile optimised to reduce turbulence and sediment accumulation
-
Suitable for use in standard drainage systems (foul, surface, stormwater)
Benefits
-
Efficient flow merging: The swept 87.5° design reduces flow disruption, helping maintain system performance and reducing risk of blockages.
-
Reliable sealing: Socketed ring seals or push-fit joints provide robust watertight connections, reducing leaks or infiltration.
-
Flexible layout: Allows you to branch off smaller lines without needing multiple adapters or complex changes in pipe size gradually.
-
Durability for underground use: Strong material choice and design make it resistant to moisture, soil pressure, and ground abnormalities.
-
Ease of installation: Socket ends simplify joining and reduce the need for adhesives or complex welding, saving time on site.
