110mm Drain Testing Plug
Product Description
Seal off your drain or sewer pipework safely and accurately using the 110mm Drain Testing Plug. This strong, zinc-plated steel plug is designed for pressure or air testing of drainage systems, helping you locate leaks, verify system integrity, and ensure compliance with installation standards. It’s built to suit pipes with internal diameters between 95-108 mm, making it ideal for the 4-inch range.
With a robust wing-nut mechanism, the plug is compressed into the pipe and tightened to form a secure, air-tight seal. The steel plates clamp against both sides and a rubber gasket in between forms the seal. Its zinc plating provides added corrosion resistance, tested to around 90-hours salt-spray exposure.
It has a maximum allowable back pressure of 10 psi, so be sure not to exceed this during testing. The plug weighs approximately 0.41 kg, meaning it’s solid but still manageable for site use. Minimum insertion profile is about 37.5 mm — this is how far into the pipe the plug must go to ensure a correct seal.
Key Features
-
Fits pipe internal diameters: 95-108 mm (≈ 4-inch)
-
Maximum test back pressure: 10 psi
-
Construction: Zinc-plated steel plates + rubber sealing gasket
-
Insertion depth: minimum 37.5 mm inside pipe for proper sealing.
-
Weight: ~ 0.41 kg – portable yet rugged.
Benefits
-
Reliable seals: Wing-nut adjustment and gasket provide an air/water-tight seal for accurate pressure testing.
-
Wide compatibility: The 95-108 mm size range fits many 4-inch pipe types, reducing need for multiple plug sizes.
-
Durability: Steel plates plus zinc plating resist corrosion, providing long-term usability.
-
Cost and time efficient: A single plug can be used repeatedly across different test jobs.
-
Clear performance limits: Knowing back pressure limits helps avoid damage or test failures.
Things to Note
-
Always check you are within back-pressure limits (10 psi) to avoid risk of blow-outs.
-
Ensure pipe ends are clean and free from deformation or sharp edges for the seal to work correctly.
-
Insert plug to minimum profile depth (≈ 37.5 mm) to allow the gasket to fully expand and seat.
-
After use, clean and dry the plug and gasket to maintain performance for future tests.
