What Is 50.5mm Insulated Plasterboard?

Make your installation process faster and more convenient with the 37.5mm Insulated Plasterboard. It’s a versatile 2-in-1 solution that combines the excellent heat insulation of PIR with the structural strength of plasterboard.

This product features a high-performance PIR insulation board bonded to tapered-edge plasterboard. You can use it in various construction applications, including internal masonry walls, and between rafters and joists. The “50.5mm” indicates the total thickness, combining the 38mm insulation board and the 12.5mm plasterboard.

The 50.5mm Insulated Plasterboard is BBA certified as a thermal laminate and can be used in both residential and commercial buildings. It not only enhances thermal efficiency but also helps reduce the risk of surface condensation.

Applications for 50.5mm Insulated Plasterboard:

Insulated plasterboards offer rapid installation and flexibility. They are suitable for pitched roof and wall applications in new construction and renovation projects, saving installation time by providing insulation and plasterboard in one step.

The tapered-edge plasterboard ensures seamless joints that are ideal for walls, ensuring a smooth surface for painting or tiling. You can use mechanical fastening techniques or the direct bonding “dot and dab” method to attach it to masonry walls.

Insulated Plasterboards can assist in upgrading to meet current building regulation standards in:

  • Pitched roofs
  • Flat roofs and wall applications
  • Internal solid wall insulation
  • Insulating between and under rafters and joists
  • Timber frame lining applications

50.5mm Insulated Plasterboard Specifications:

Simplifies insulation projects by combining the thermal advantages of PIR with plasterboard drylining. PIR is a top choice for improving home heat retention due to its impressive thermal conductivity value of 0.022 W/mK. This product meets current building regulation standards and offers:

  • Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP)
  • Compatibility with direct bonding (“dot and dab”) and mechanical installation techniques
  • Built-in vapor control layer
  • Maximum flexibility and installation speed thanks to the tapered edge
  • A 2-in-1 solution that combines insulation and drylining
  • BBA certification
  • Compressive Strength: 120kPa
  • Reaction to Fire: Euroclass B-s1, d0 Reaction to Fire classification per EN 13501-1

Insulated Plasterboard Certifications:

  • Achieves a BRE Green Guide Rating of A+
  • BBA approved – certificate 16/5357 (Plasterboard Thermal Laminate)
  • BBA and Ofgem approved
  • Classified as Class O in accordance with Building Regulations
  • CE marked

Insulated Plasterboard Storage:

These boards are delivered in polythene-wrapped packs. To preserve their quality, protect them from prolonged exposure to sunlight and moisture.
