160-180mm x 180-200mm Flexible uPVC – Clay Adaptor AC6000
Product Description
This 160-180mm x 180-200mm Flexible uPVC – Clay Adaptor AC6000Â is designed to connect pipes with different external diameters seamlessly and securely. It allows you to link a larger pipe (180-200 mm OD) to a smaller one (160-180 mm OD) without needing multiple rigid adaptors, helping simplify transitions in drainage systems, repairs, or retrofits.
The coupling consists of a stepped moulded EPDM rubber sleeve and two stainless steel worm-drive clamp bands. One end fits pipes in the 180–200 mm range, while the other fits pipes in the 160–180 mm range, as shown in the product spec sheet. Its construction makes it suitable for joints between different materials (plastic, concrete, clay, etc.), provided the pipes have compatible diameters.
Rated for pressure up to 0.6 bar (≈ 8.7 psi) and with jetting resistance of up to 180 bar, it’s built to handle typical underground drainage conditions including occasional cleaning operations. Temperature tolerance spans from –50 °C to 80 °C (constant) and up to 100 °C intermittently. For correct installation, tightening torque for the clamps is recommended at 6 Nm. It measures length ≈ 220 mm, width ≈ 150 mm, depth ≈ 220 mm and weighs around 1.07 kg.
Do note: this type of adaptor coupling is generally not permitted on adopted drainage systems under some regulations (e.g. WIS 4-41-01 in England & Wales) — for those systems, a shear-banded straight coupling plus a bush or reducer is preferred.
