150-165mm Flexible Drain Coupling DC165
Product Description
This 150-165mm Flexible Drain Coupling DC165 is a resilient and practical solution for connecting, repairing, or adapting drainage pipework of slightly varying diameters. Whether you’re joining two plain-ended pipes, making a material transition, or patching a damaged section, this coupling makes installation fast and watertight without the need for adhesives or complex fittings.
The coupling is constructed from a moulded EPDM rubber sleeve, with stainless steel worm-drive clamp bands at each end. The rubber sleeve is flexible yet sturdy, accommodating minor misalignments and tolerances in pipe diameters. The stainless steel clamps provide strong, even pressure to seal against water ingress. The DC165 variant spans a 150–165 mm range, making it suitable for 150 mm pipes and slight oversize tolerances.
Because it’s a “drain coupling” rather than a full structural connector, it’s intended for non-pressure / gravity drainage systems where resistance to earth loads is not the primary requirement. This makes it ideal for retrofit work, repair patches, or when connecting pipes of slightly varied diameter or material.
Key Features
-
Flexible sleeve coupling covering 150–165 mm outside diameter range
-
EPDM rubber sleeve — durable, resilient and flexible
-
Stainless steel clamp bands (worm drive) — even clamping, corrosion resistant
-
Suitable for non-pressure / gravity drainage systems (i.e. non-adopted systems)
-
Provides air-tight and water-tight seal when properly installed
-
Quick to install — no need for solvent welding or adhesives in typical use
Benefits & Use Cases
-
Repair & patching: Excellent for replacing a short section of damaged pipe without removing long runs.
-
Material transition: Helps join pipes made from different materials (e.g. PVC to clay) where diameters align within the range.
-
Tolerance accommodation: The flexible sleeve can adjust for minor mismatches or misalignments.
-
Cost effective: Reduces need for more complex adaptors or extra fittings when diameters vary slightly.
-
Low complexity: Installers can quickly install couplings with simple tools — clamp, tighten, check.
