Raj Green is a natural product, so differences in colour, veining, texture, dimensions and thickness are completely normal. These variations form part of the stone’s character and should not be considered defects.

The paving can appear considerably darker and richer when wet or sealed. Product photographs showing wet or sealed paving may therefore differ from the colour of the slabs when delivered dry and unsealed.

For the most balanced finish, open several packs and mix slabs as laying progresses. We also recommend ordering approximately 10% more paving than the measured area to allow for cutting, natural selection, handling and potential breakages.

The slabs should be laid on a full-contact mortar bed supporting the entire underside of each slab. Spot bedding should be avoided. Applying a suitable slurry primer to the underside is strongly recommended to improve adhesion.

What joint width should be used?

A joint width of approximately 10mm is recommended. Some adjustment may be required because of the naturally hand-cut edges.

Does Raj Green sandstone need sealing?
